From the Ransiya Estate to the World
In the tranquil landscapes of Warakagoda, Mathugama in the Western Province of Sri Lanka, the story of the Ransiya Estate began with a vision — to cultivate authentic Ceylon cinnamon and share its true character with the world.
On 24 May 2024, more than 8,000 young Ceylon cinnamon plants were carefully planted across the estate, taking root in the fertile soil and tropical climate that have made Sri Lanka the birthplace of the world’s finest cinnamon. Surrounded by warm rains, rich earth, and generations of agricultural knowledge, these young plants marked the beginning of a long-term journey.
But the Ransiya Estate is more than a plantation.
It is a place where nature, tradition, and community come together.
The estate is cared for with dedication by skilled village workers from the surrounding communities, whose knowledge and hard work play an essential role in nurturing each cinnamon plant. Their careful cultivation, patience, and respect for the land ensure that the cinnamon grows with the delicate sweetness, golden color, and remarkable aroma that define true Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum).
As the estate grows and matures, so does the vision behind it — to bring the authentic taste and heritage of Sri Lanka’s most treasured spice to kitchens across the globe.
From these cinnamon gardens in Western Province, Sri Lanka, Ransiya Cinnamon carries not only the flavor of true Ceylon cinnamon, but also the dedication of the land and the people who cultivate it.
